I have spent the majority of my career working for a pediatric hospital. After becoming a mom, I began working for a local university as part of their clinical faculty.
When our son was born, for the most part, he was a good little sleeper…until about 4 months old. That is when everyone’s world was turned upside down! I went back to work part time after being at home for four months and he went to “school.” He attended school for nine hours a day and would sleep, at most, 1-2 hours for the entire day…and, that was usually across 3-5 naps! Any routine we had tried to establish was gone as we were attempting to make up for lost sleep on the days he was not at school. My husband and I were trying to create a healthy structure and routine for our little one, but it always felt like we were taking 2-steps forward and 1-step back!
