A Few Words About Kelley - Westminster, CO
Hi! My name is Kelley Ryan and I’m a certified pediatric sleep consultant with Sleep Wise Consulting. I am here to help you and your baby get a good night's sleep!
I received my Bachelor's degree in Child Life with a minor in Developmental Psychology from the University of Iowa. After college, I married my high school sweetheart and we moved to Colorado to start a new adventure. I have loved working and helping families ever since. From a young age, I noted that the happiest babies seemed to be those who took great naps and slept through the night. I could not believe that a baby so young could do those things. From there, I started researching infant sleep resources and I was hooked! I decided then and there that I wanted to help educate as many families as possible about infant sleep so they too could experience being well-rested with well-rested babies. From my work as a nanny to a Certified Parent Educator, I have been sharing my knowledge of infant and toddler sleep wherever I can!
In April of 2015, my son was born and I decided to stay at home with him. I was excited to get the chance to implement what I had learned through experience with other little ones. I felt ready. I could do this! I would do everything the books said and everything would go perfectly. I would get him to fall asleep on his own, take long naps, and sleep through the night super quickly. That was my plan before he was born. Well, I did help him learn how to put himself to sleep independently from a young age, but he did not sleep through the night naturally and I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get him to nap past 37 minutes. 37 minute naps?!? It drove me crazy! I know there are moms out there that feel the same way. How could I get other babies to sleep through the night and take long naps, but not my own son?
I reached out to Katie Pitts with Sleep Wise Consulting. I stuck with my plan and after a short period of time my son started sleeping through the night and taking longer naps. The relief became a passion to help other moms out there who are wondering how to get their baby to sleep longer than 30-90 minute increments.
After my own experience with my son and my other experiences helping families get their little ones to sleep through the night I decided I wanted to explore my dream in becoming a Pediatric Sleep Consultant so I could help more families. When I got the opportunity to join Sleep Wise Consulting, I knew my dream could become a reality! I have completed a comprehensive training and mentoring program to gain more knowledge to provide you with the best information so your whole family can get more sleep. Everything I have done in my life has been working toward making a difference in families of babies and toddlers. Helping families sleep through the night is where my heart belongs and I hope I get the opportunity to help your family.
