Laura Occhipinti
Pediatric Sleep Consultant
Kenner, La.
Laura lives in Kenner, Louisiana — a city just outside of New Orleans — with her husband and four children. Coming from a large extended family, babies and children have always been a central part of her life. She is thrilled to be part of the Sleep Wise team as a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant, where she helps families get the sleep they need and deserve so they can truly enjoy their time together.
Laura’s Experience
Laura earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and began teaching at an all-girls high school in New Orleans for two years after graduation. With her strong background in science, a deep love for babies, and a willingness to return to school, Laura pursued a career in nursing and graduated in 2010 — just weeks before welcoming her first daughter!
For the next 14 years, Laura had the privilege of working as a Labor and Delivery nurse, supporting hundreds of families through one of the most meaningful and life-changing experiences of their lives. During that time, she witnessed the strength, vulnerability, and love that surround childbirth, and she was honored to provide both medical care and emotional support in those powerful moments before, during, and after delivery. Each family’s story was unique, and Laura’s role was to guide with compassion, advocate with dedication, and ensure that every parent felt safe, heard, and cared for as they welcomed new life into the world.
"I was optimistic about sleep training based on experiences that my other friends had with Sleep Wise. Still, I did not anticipate the phenomenal results that I got. A routine schedule, consolidated naps, and a full night’s sleep restored my family’s health, made us more attentive to our child’s needs, and gave us back time together to continue our happy marriage!"

Laura’s Sleep Story
Laura’s journey with Sleep Wise grew from her desire to continue connecting with families and their little ones beyond the delivery room. Because so many parents asked about newborn sleep within hours or days of birth, conversations about sleep became second nature to her. Having successfully sleep trained her own four children — as well as helping nieces, nephews, and friends — Laura discovered that she loves a good challenge and delights in celebrating each success along the way.
Now, as a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant, she looks forward to helping families experience life through rested eyes and to find the same peace, confidence, and joy that quality sleep brings.
